<image:title>About Me - Welcome! I'm Acacia, and I know, it’s a funny one to say. Try a-kas-sea-a, like 'a cassio' watch.</image:title>
<image:caption>I was the classic "designer because I like to draw" uni student, but with time I've leaned more and more into anything digital. The exciting bits of my career started with an exchange program to the US, where I interned in a video API start-up and learned how to say "y'all". After that, I went back to Brazil and worked remotely from Sao Paulo so that I could finish my Graphic Design BFA. Nowadays, I find myself working for fintech company and exploring what South London has to offer. Professionally, I love the good and bad bits of being an end-to-end product designer - feedback sessions, stakeholder management, constraints... all of it. Privately, I enjoy jumping deep into a new topic and becoming a short-time expert on something that catches my eye. That means you can find me knitting, cycling, or falling from my snowboard in my free time. I hope you enjoy my work, and feel free to say hi! My email is acacia.p.a@gmail.com</image:caption>

<image:title>Work - Dashboard Information Architecture - From a 'scrollable product catalogue' to 'empathetic task list'</image:title>
<image:caption>The biggest challenge was the overwhelming volume of data to analyze. It required scavaging many research reports, analytics tools and creating a dedicated survey. In the end, I took the Pareto Principle to heart and made it easier to access 20% of the pages people will use 80% of the time. Based on triangulation research, I knew our critical tasks to be: Managing funds - Important to everyone. Keeping an eye on usage (analytics and logs) - Important to developers. Managing account (generating invoices, managing numbers) - Important to product managers. So, the new navigation was broken up into four main sections: Quick links - For savvy users that need a fast path. Expose pages that returning users need the most. (e.g. billing, analytics, logs). Build & Manage - For users that need to change their settings or set up new builds. Can be set-it-and-forget-it or on-going maintenance. Troubleshoot & Learn - For new users that are learning the platform or troubleshooting their build. More - About the customer's relationship with Vonage. (e.g. profile, team, company) With the help of our UX Researcher, we designed a tree testing study and validated these changes.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work - Debugging Tool - All databases in one place</image:title>
<image:caption>Initially, this project had a small focus that wouldn't solve enough useful problems or justify its existence. By interviewing support engineers and tech leads, I've realized that the initial scope was incorrect. It was a classic case of everyone seeing only one part of the beast, not the whole creature. I've gone back to the drawing board and helped our junior PM to redefine priorities. One aspect that was adjusted was exposing five databases instead of two - concentrating all SMS lifecycle information in one tool. We moved the initial written brief, analytics, as a phase two addition.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work - Debugging Tool - Complex filtering</image:title>
<image:caption>Support engineers need to know what, why, and how exactly something happened. Custom filtering was a key component for tool adoption. It was modelled to be similar to Kibana - the main tool expert engineers already use - with the intent of increasing familiarity and learnability. Because of backend technology constraints, not all optimal UX could be built from the get-go. We made a complex filtering system on the front-end and opened requests with data-pipeline teams to improve the tool in the next iterations.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work - Debugging Tool - Arsenal of secondary tools and check-ups</image:title>
<image:caption>Having all actions that might be needed for debugging in one place was very important, since context switching was one of the most significant issues support engineers had. So instead of just knowing the status of an SMS, they now can: fire a test SMS themselves, checkup if the number is valid, test the webhooks, or escalate the problem directly to an external supplier - all in one toolbar.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work - Debugging Tool - Beginner-friendly</image:title>
<image:caption>More often than not, SMS debugging is done by experts. To make the content more beginner-friendly, I've worked closely with the support lead to develop definitions and polished micro-copy. Jargons and acronyms are now accompanied by tooltips and supporting copy. That way, the tool is powerful enough to be used by an expert, but self-explanatory enough for someone who's just starting.</image:caption>
